We value your online security as much as you do. Our team works continuously to protect the security of your account, and we take steps every day to provide a secure experience for our users.

Trawerk complies to the European Law for Data Security. All data is sent over an encrypted connection from your browser to our server (HTTPS). You can verify this by checking that the lock icon is shown in the browser address bar. Furthermore we strive to always use the latest available security information to secure our servers, application and other services to ensure your data is safe.

Trawerk does not store any financial data on our platform. All financial transactions are handled by our payment partner which is fully PCI (DSS 2.0 standard) Level 1 compliant, supervised by the Croatian Central bank as a payment institution and complies with all the requirements of the European Commission’s Payment Service Directive (PSD, 2007/64/EC).

Responsible disclosure

If you do however think you’ve discovered a potential security issue that affects many users, please report it by emailing our team directly. If you’ve found an issue that affects only your own account, please contact our support team instead.

Cookies

Trawerk uses cookies for basic website functionality such as remembering that you are logged in if you do so (so called sessions). We also use cookies together with 3rd party analytics services such as Google Analytics to better understand how our customers use the website and improve it based on these findings. We do not use this data for advertising nor is this data shared with any other company.

We’re committed to your personal privacy and the correct collection and use of any personal data when using the Trawerk platform, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) . Please read the following carefully to understand how we use and protect the information you provide to us.

What is Trawerk?
Trawerk is one of the largest rental accommodation platform that brings together demand & supply of mid-term housing. International students, expats and young professionals looking for a new home can book a room, apartment or studio on the platform. On the other hand, outgoing exchange students, verified local landlords, social and commercial housing operators can advertise and rent their properties. Throughout this policy mentions of “Trawerk”, “we”, “us”, “our”, “platform” or “Data Controller” refers to Trawerk, who’s responsible for your personal information under this Privacy Policy.

This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, process and communicate your information with your use of the Trawerk platform, social media channels and payment services. If you see any undefined terms such as ‘listing’ or ‘booking’ it has the same definition as our Terms and Conditions.

How can I understand what you’re going to say now?

Here are some definitions to help you understand what we’re talking about.

Personal Data

Any information concerning a natural person, a legal person, an institution or an association, which is, or can be, identified, even indirectly, by reference to any other information, including a personal identification number.

User: Anyone who registers an account with Trawerk.

Tenant: Anyone who is searching for accommodation to rent on Trawerk.

Advertiser: Anyone who is seeking to list, rent or sublet their property on Trawerk.

Listings: Any property that is uploaded onto Trawerk and is available to rent. Listings include: property photos, description and address.

Third Party: Any affiliate service that Trawerk does business with.

What type of personal information does Trawerk collect?

When signing up for a Trawerk account, there are two categories of information that we collect. We ask for the following information as it’s necessary for the adequate use of the Trawerk platform.

1. Information you give to us

Account information: When you sign up for a Trawerk account, we require information such as: First name, Surname, email address and date of birth

Profile and listing Information: When listing or booking accommodation we ask for information such as: Address, phone number and a profile picture

Payment information: When making or receiving a booking we require banking details so we can collect and payout funds between users. We’ll ask for your banking account or credit card information, we’ll never share any banking information with other users or companies.

Communication with Trawerk and other Users: When communicating with Trawerk (support chat, reviews) or with other users ( advertisers or tenants, we collect information about your communication and any information you choose to provide.

2. Information we automatically collect

When using the Trawerk platform, we’ll collect certain usage information even if you didn’t make a booking reservation. This includes your IP address, browser type, language settings, date of account registration, date and length of your visit on the platform, the number of web sessions on the platform, the device(s) you use to visit the platform, the operating system of those devices and information about link clicks and pages you’ve visited.

Trawerk and our third-party services, such as our analytics partners, use cookies and other tracking technologies (e.g., web beacons, device identifiers and pixels) to provide better functionality and to be able to recognize you across different services and devices. Why does Trawerk collect and use your personal data?

We collect and use your personal data to administer your booking and to ensure the best use of our service as well as providing you with the ultimate user experience on the desktop and mobile web application. We’ll also use that data to contact you, inform you and update you on the booking process through service emails. Any marketing communications will be sent on an opt in basis from the user. We may also, either directly or through third party companies and individuals we engage to provide services to us, review, scan, or analyze your communications with other users exchanged via our messaging system for fraud prevention, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, investigation, product development, research and customer support purposes. For example, as part of our fraud prevention efforts, Trawerk scans and analyzes messages to mask contact information and links to other websites. This helps to prevent fraudsters from asking tenants to send them money outside of the Trawerk website, such as by bank transfer or other money transfer methods.

How does Trawerk share your data with third parties?

Under certain circumstances and conditions we work with third parties like: Business Partners ( Affiliates), that we use in order to promote our listings to a broader audience. Affiliates aim to drive users to an operator’s site/app (Trawerk) with the aim of such user signing up and book a room. This means that the operator will be a controller in respect of such users once they have entered the operator’s site/ app (Trawerk), but prior to this the operator has no relationship with the traffic that is being driven towards the Affiliates site. No personal data is shared with our Business partners.

Third-Party Service Providers: We use service providers to process your personal data on our behalf. We use Service Providers for purposes such as sending marketing communications, validating your email and account details. Third party service providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and are not allowed to use or share your personal data for any other use than of those stated above.

Payment Providers or (other) Financial Institutions: A Payment Provider is a third party service we use to process payments related to bookings. In the case of a charge back of a booking that has already been processed, we need to share some banking/booking information such as IP address and booking confirmation, with the payment service provider and financial institution so we can handle the chargeback. We may also share information with relevant financial institutions if we consider it necessary in the case of fraud protection and purposes.

The Personal data shared with Business Partners or other Third-party services are encrypted for the safety of the data processed.

How does Trawerk use social media?

Certain social media channels can be integrated with Trawerk, these include Facebook and Google+ for making and logging into your Trawerk account. This is so you don’t have to remember many different emails and passwords. When a social media account is being used to register a new Trawerk account, you’ll receive a notification from that social media channel relaying what information on your account Trawerk will have access to. These settings can be amended by the user through Facebook and Google+. Any information given through contact made by the user with Trawerk through Facebook Messenger will also be processed with third party service providers.

How can I review and control the personal data collected by Trawerk?

You always have the right to access and review your personal data that we have about you, you can ask all the personal details your inserted when you signed up in your Profile, by clicking ‘Edit Profile’ or by sending us an email to: info@trawerk.com

Who’s responsible for the processing of personal data on theTrawerk website?

Trawerk j.d.o.o. located in Osijek, Croatia, controls the processing of personal data on its website.

How long is personal data stored?

We will store data for as long as we deem necessary to enable you to use our service, to comply with appropriate laws, to resolve any disputes between parties and detecting and preventing potential fraudulent activities.

Data Deletion Request:

Users have the right to request the deletion of their personal data collected by Trawerk. To initiate a data deletion request, please contact our Data Protection Officer at info@trawerk.com. Upon receiving a valid data deletion request, we will take the necessary steps to permanently delete your personal data from our systems within 48 hours.

Please note that any personal data collected before the data deletion request will be securely and permanently removed from our records. We are committed to ensuring the privacy and security of our users' data.
